Another instance of confrontation between humans and animals occurred on January 5 in the early hours of the day when a herd of wild elephants wrecked a banana farm in the Panka area under Wokha village. Atheo Murry, the chairman of Tourist Lodge Colony, claims that additional harm was avoided because of the residents’ prompt action. He claimed that in order to keep the wild elephants at bay and protect the hamlet, the locals utilized crackers that the Forest Department had provided. He calculated that there were roughly four elephants in the wild. Farmers, who typically spend the night in their fields during the growing season, are concerned about the incident site, which was just 50 feet from the main road.
