Mumbai, July 31, 2025 — Bollywood icon Aamir Khan has unveiled a quirky and nostalgic promotional video to announce the digital release of his latest film Sitaare Zameen Par, which will be available on YouTube starting August 1 for ₹100. Breaking away from traditional OTT platforms, Khan opted for a pay-per-view model via his newly launched channel, Aamir Khan Talkies.
The announcement video features Aamir alongside his sons, Junaid Khan and Azad Rao Khan, in a humorous parody of scenes from the cult classic Andaz Apna Apna. The promo marks the first on-screen collaboration between Aamir and Junaid, with Azad making a cameo appearance. Directed by Vaibhav Bundhoo and produced by Fever Films, the ad film blends nostalgia, satire, and self-deprecating humor, referencing Aamir’s past box office misfires like Thugs of Hindostan and Laal Singh Chaddha.
In the video, Junaid plays a cheerful version of Aamir’s character Amar, while Aamir takes on the role of the disapproving father, echoing Deven Verma’s portrayal in the original film. The dialogue is peppered with witty exchanges, including Aamir calling Junaid a “nepo kid” and lamenting past decisions influenced by his son’s enthusiasm. The promo also features a surprise appearance by Andaz Apna Apna director Rajkumar Santoshi.
Sitaare Zameen Par, directed by RS Prasanna and written by Divy Nidhi Sharma, is a spiritual successor to Aamir’s 2007 hit Taare Zameen Par. The sports comedy stars Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh and introduces ten new actors. It follows a suspended basketball coach tasked with training a team of players with disabilities as part of his community service.
Aamir revealed that he turned down a ₹125 crore OTT deal in favor of YouTube’s accessibility, citing India’s widespread UPI adoption and the platform’s reach of over 55 crore daily users. He also announced plans to release future films from Aamir Khan Productions on the channel, supporting emerging filmmakers and offering a mix of free and paid content.
