AAP MLAs Ejected from Delhi Assembly Amidst “Bhai” Row with Parvesh Verma

New Delhi: The Delhi Assembly witnessed chaotic scenes as Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs staged a protest against BJP MP Parvesh Verma’s repeated use of the term “bhai” (brother) during his address. The protest escalated into a major disruption, resulting in the marshaling out of three AAP MLAs from the House.

The controversy erupted when Parvesh Verma, invited to address the Assembly on a specific issue, repeatedly used the term “bhai” while referring to certain individuals. AAP MLAs objected to this, alleging that the term was being used in a derogatory or disrespectful manner. They demanded that Verma retract his words and apologize.

However, Verma reportedly defended his use of the term, leading to a heated exchange between the treasury and opposition benches. AAP MLAs then intensified their protest, raising slogans and demanding action against Verma. The situation quickly spiraled out of control, prompting the Speaker to intervene.

Despite repeated appeals for order, the AAP MLAs continued their protest, leading to a significant disruption of the Assembly proceedings. Consequently, the Speaker ordered the marshaling out of three AAP MLAs, who were forcibly removed from the House.

Following the incident, AAP leaders condemned Verma’s remarks and criticized the Speaker’s decision to eject their MLAs. They accused Verma of using inappropriate language and alleged that the Speaker was biased in his handling of the situation. BJP leaders, on the other hand, defended Verma’s use of the term and accused AAP MLAs of creating unnecessary ruckus.

The incident has further intensified the political tensions between AAP and BJP in Delhi. The use of language and the subsequent protest highlight the charged atmosphere within the Delhi Assembly. The incident demonstrates the on-going political battles within the Delhi legislative assembly.
