Union minister of state (MoS) for tribal affairs, Durgadas Uikey, visited the Kiphire aspirational district and held a meeting with various local leaders, administrative officials and other officials in the conference hall of deputy commissioner (DC) Kiphire on January 13, 2025. The union minister of state interacted with the local leaders, stakeholders, and departmental officials.
He also reviewed the progress of key developmental initiatives and projects in the district, which reflect the government’s commitment to address the needs of the communities, besides ongoing initiatives and challenges in the development of tribal areas, as well as to explore new avenues for collaboration in the district. DC Kiphire, Temsuwati Longkumer, requested the MoS to give special consideration to the proposals submitted by Kiphire aspirational district.
The Ministry of Tribal Affairs has not allocated funds for Kiphire during 2023-2024 and 2024-2025, despite being an ‘Aspirational District’. Chinese Chakhesang appraised for a model women police station. Union Minister of State Durgadas Uikey visited PM SHRI Government High School Yangphi and praised teachers for their dedication. He directed the planning department to provide timely updates on construction progress and shared his contact information for better communication.
