Assam Rifles, DRI seize 60,000 Yaba tablets in Tripura; two arrested

Assam Rifles, in collaboration with the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), successfully carried out a major operation against narcotics smuggling in Teliamura, Tripura, on Saturday. The joint team seized 60,000 Yaba tablets from a WagonR vehicle bearing the registration number AS 01-AV-1079. The seized contraband, valued at approximately ₹6 crore in the international market, highlights the gravity of the smuggling issue.

Two individuals, Dilbar Hussain from Hailakandi, Assam, and Md Juber Ahmad from Karimganj, Assam, were apprehended during the operation. Both suspects and the confiscated narcotics have been handed over to the DRI for further legal proceedings and investigation.

Officials emphasized that this operation underscores the continued dedication of Assam Rifles to combat drug trafficking and maintain regional security.
