Mumbai, Sept 29 — In a fresh casting coup, digital sensation Bhuvan Bam and acclaimed actress Wamiqa Gabbi are set to star together in Dharma Productions’ upcoming feature film, marking their first collaboration under the banner of one of India’s most prestigious production houses.
The project, currently in pre-production, is being helmed by director Anand Tiwari, known for his work on Bandish Bandits and Love Per Square Foot. The film is expected to be a romantic drama with contemporary themes, blending emotional depth with light-hearted storytelling — a genre Dharma Productions has long mastered.
Bhuvan Bam, who rose to fame through his YouTube channel BB Ki Vines and later impressed audiences with his acting debut in Taaza Khabar, will be making his big-screen debut with this film. His transition from digital content creator to mainstream actor has been closely watched, and this casting signals a major leap in his career.
Wamiqa Gabbi, fresh off her critically acclaimed performances in Jubilee, Khufiya, and Charlie Chopra, continues to expand her cinematic footprint. Her pairing with Bam is being touted as unconventional yet promising, with industry insiders calling it a “bold and refreshing choice.”
Sources close to the production reveal that the film will begin shooting in early 2026, with locations planned across Mumbai, Delhi, and parts of Himachal Pradesh. The screenplay is reportedly penned by lyricist and writer Kausar Munir, adding further depth to the film’s emotional landscape.
Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions has yet to make an official announcement, but insiders suggest the film will be part of the studio’s 2026 slate, which includes a mix of debut ventures and high-profile sequels.
The casting of Bam and Gabbi has already generated buzz across social media, with fans eager to see how the duo’s chemistry unfolds on screen. More details, including the title and supporting cast, are expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.
