Dimapur arranged a workshop on the mental health of males

Dimapur 24/7 hosted a workshop on men’s mental health at the KPCI-Vision Success Institute in Dimapur. The goal of the event was to examine important psychological issues, eliminate the stigma associated with men’s mental health, and establish a secure environment for talking about it. The resource person, Alocali Zhimomi, B.Th, M.Div, Masters in Pastoral Counseling, offered insightful information about men’s emotional health and stress management. She emphasized the underlying reasons of ego, emotional hurdles, and social shame that frequently deter males from getting help.

Zhimomi urged attendees to question conventional ideas of masculinity that impede emotional expression while highlighting the importance of candid conversations. Men’s mental health has long been hampered by social pressure to repress their feelings, she said, and she emphasized the need to provide environments where men can talk about their problems and ask for support without worrying about being judged. Dimapur 24/7 executive members, instructors, and college students all actively participated in the session.

Annie Jain, the chairperson of Dimapur 24/7, emphasized that it is critical to establish forums for candid conversation and assistance because conversations about men’s mental health frequently do not receive the attention they merit. She also emphasized the necessity for professional intervention and education by pointing out the stark discrepancy between the general public’s awareness of mental health issues and the professional advice given by mental health specialists.
