Google opens “Ananta,” one of its biggest offices worldwide, in Bengaluru

‘Ananta,’ one of Google’s biggest headquarters worldwide, was opened by the California-based internet giant in Mahadevapura, on the outskirts of Bengaluru. Bagmane Tech Park took six years to build the 1.6-million-square-foot building, and in another eleven months, it was tailored for Google. With space for more than 5,000 workers, Google’s new office will expand its footprint in India. India is one of the company’s largest employment bases outside of the US, with about 10,000 employees currently working there.

Ananta’s launch demonstrates Google’s steadfast dedication to India and its mission to provide solutions for both domestic and international consumers. Vice-President of Product at Google DeepMind, Anand Rangarajan, discussed India’s rapid technical advancement and how Google fosters innovation through collaborations, research, and development at the event. According to Rangarajan, Google values India not only for providing its goods in numerous regional languages but also for enhancing them with Indian innovation.

Teams from several Google departments, including Android, Search, Play, Pay, Cloud, Maps, and Google DeepMind, are anticipated to be housed in the new site. India is a vital nerve center for Google, according to Preeti Lobana, the company’s vice president and country manager for India. With projects like AI-powered flood forecasting, specialized AI models for early tuberculosis detection, and Google Pay, which has enabled millions of people to access the formal economy, Google, which recently celebrated its 20th anniversary in India, has helped the country undergo a technological revolution.
