Ibobi Singh Calls for End to Violence at Moirangthem Ibotombi Memorial Event

Former Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh on Sunday reiterated that violence can never be a solution to any problem, citing the brutal killing of Moirangthem Ibotombi by armed assailants as a painful reminder of its consequences.

He was speaking at the 31st death anniversary of the late Moirangthem Ibotombi Singh, observed at the Moirangthem Ibotombi Memorial Complex in Heirok Part-II, Mayai Leikai. The programme was organised by the 31st Moirangthem Ibotombi Memorial Charitable Trust.

Ibobi Singh said that violence brings no good to society and that taking another person’s life is not inherent to human nature. Calling for collective responsibility in eradicating the culture of violence, he urged citizens to work together for a secure and harmonious Manipur.
“If every individual chooses to live peacefully and resolve conflicts without violence, Manipur can truly become a peaceful state,” he said.
