Devraa: Part 1 is the first Telugu film of Janhvi Kapoor’s career. In this action drama film, Janhvi Kapoor is working with Jr NTR. Recently, Animal director Sandeep Reddy Vanga hosted a chat with Devraa: Part 1 cast Jr NTR, Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor and director Koratala Siva, where Jr NTR revealed how much Janhvi resembles his late mother Sridevi. Jr NTR while talking about Janhvi said, “I remember, there was a photoshoot where we did a kind of look test. There was a picture of her that we released, where she was sitting on a boat and looking at the camera. She looked exactly like Sridevi. In some angles, she looks exactly the same. We tried to capture a bit of that on the camera as well, but I don’t think you can capture that in the angle. But, it’s in the way she performs or the way she smiles. It reminds me of Sridevi.”
Janhvi replied that, “It’s weird for me to say this, but I feel it more when I perform and speak in Telugu. I don’t know if it means anything. It just felt like home to me.”
Jr NTR plays a double role as Devara and Varada aka Deva and Vara in Devara: Part 1. Saif Ali Khan plays wrestling expert Bhaira, while Janhvi plays Thangam. The film’s cast also includes Prakash Raj, Srikanth Meka, Tom Shine Chacko and Narayan.
Sridevi began her acting career as a child artist in South Indian cinema by appearing in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films. She rose to fame by working in several successful films with Akkineni Nageswara Rao. She also worked with NT Rama Rao, Chiranjeevi and Venkatesh.
Sridevi died in 2018 after drowning in a bathtub at a hotel in Dubai.
