RBI MPC Meeting Today Live Updates: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is set to announce the short-term rate lending decision at 10 am on Thursday (February 8). The central bank’s bi-monthly Policy Committee (MPC) meeting, which commenced its meeting on February 6, will conclude its three-day deliberation today.
RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das will announce the policy decision followed by a press conference at 12 pm. Most analysts’ and investors believe that RBI will keep policy rates steady in line with the US Federal Reserve.
As of now, the repo rate stands at 6.5 per cent after a 0.25 per cent hike by RBI in February 2023. Inflation has remained largely above or at the upper end of RBI’s tolerance level. The central bank, under RBI Act 1934 and 2016 amendment, is entrusted with the task to formulate India’s monetary policy.
