Ango Konyak, the NFMP’s deputy project director, and Wennyei Konyak, the Nagaland House’s resident commissioner in New Delhi, accepted the SKOCH Award at a ceremony held at the 100th SKOCH summit. In order to improve livelihoods and restore Jhum regions, NFMP prioritizes sustainable forest conservation and village-specific interventions run by joint forest management committees. The project will benefit 22 forest ranges and involve 185 settlements in 11 districts of the state between 2017 and 2027. As part of its livelihood component, it would establish 555 self-help organizations and manage 79,096 hectares of forest area, the statement continued.
