Niuland DPDB to Conduct Field Verification of Development Projects

Niuland, Nagaland, September 25, 2025 — The Niuland District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) has announced plans to conduct field verification of ongoing and proposed development projects across the district. The decision was made during the monthly DPDB meeting held at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall, chaired by MLA and DPDB Chairman, Zhaleo Rio.

During the meeting, members reviewed the status of various departmental schemes and emphasized the importance of on-site inspections to ensure transparency, accountability, and timely execution. The board resolved to carry out field visits to assess the progress and quality of work under key infrastructure and welfare initiatives.

Zhaleo Rio urged all departments to maintain accurate documentation and submit updated reports ahead of the verification exercise. He reiterated the government’s commitment to grassroots development and stressed that field-level monitoring is essential to bridge gaps between planning and implementation.

The DPDB also discussed proposals for new projects and reviewed pending items from previous meetings. Officials were directed to prioritize schemes that directly impact public welfare, including road connectivity, education, healthcare, and water supply.

The field verification is scheduled to begin in early October, with teams comprising DPDB members, district officials, and technical experts. Findings from the visits will be compiled into a comprehensive report to be submitted to the state government for further action.
