Prashanth Varma’s Superhero Film ‘Adhira’ Featuring Danayya’s Son Kalyan Dasari Progressing Smoothly

Director Prashanth Varma’s much-anticipated superhero film Adhira, starring Kalyan Dasari—son of noted producer DVV Danayya—is progressing steadily, with the team dismissing recent rumors about production delays or financial disputes.

Adhira marks the acting debut of Kalyan Dasari, who has reportedly undergone extensive training in acting, dance, and action choreography to prepare for the role. The film is part of the Prashanth Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU), which began with the critically acclaimed Hanu-Man and aims to build a homegrown superhero franchise rooted in Indian mythology and storytelling.

In response to speculation about financial ties between Prashanth Varma and DVV Danayya’s production house, Danayya issued a formal statement clarifying that there is no financial or professional association between the two. “The recent speculation regarding advances taken by Prashanth Varma from our production house is completely false and baseless,” the statement read. It further urged media outlets to verify facts before circulating misinformation.

The first-look poster of Adhira, released earlier this year, showcased Kalyan Dasari in a superhero avatar, clad in armor and poised for battle, opposite actor SJ Suryah, who plays the antagonist. The visuals and concept have generated significant buzz among fans of Indian superhero cinema.

With production on track, Adhira is expected to continue building momentum as it moves toward completion. The film is being closely watched by industry insiders and audiences alike, both for its ambitious scale and for Kalyan Dasari’s debut performance.
