Saiyaara Set for Global OTT Debut on Netflix

Mumbai, September 11, 2025 — After a record-breaking theatrical run, Mohit Suri’s romantic musical drama Saiyaara, starring debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, is set to premiere on Netflix on September 12, 2025. Produced by Yash Raj Films (YRF), the film will stream across 190 countries, marking a significant milestone in YRF’s partnership with the global OTT platform.

Released in theatres on July 18, Saiyaara quickly emerged as the highest-grossing romantic film in Indian cinema history, earning ₹581 crore worldwide. The film captivated audiences with its poignant narrative, chart-topping music, and emotionally resonant performances. It remained in theatres for over 46 days, competing successfully against major releases such as War 2 and Coolie.

The story follows Krish Kapoor (Ahaan Panday), a struggling musician, and Vaani Batra (Aneet Padda), a lyricist diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s. Their journey through music, memory, and heartbreak struck a chord with viewers, sparking conversations around love, loss, and second chances. The screenplay was penned by Sankalp Sadanah, with dialogues by Rohan Shankar.

Director Mohit Suri expressed his excitement about the film’s OTT release, stating, “Saiyaara will always be a very special film for me, and the way audiences embraced it in theatres globally was truly incredible. As the film begins its journey on Netflix, I’m excited that more people will now get to discover Krish and Vaani’s love story. Love stories are special because they are universal, and I hope Saiyaara touches hearts everywhere, in every corner of the world”.

The film’s music, composed by a team including John Stewart Eduri, Tanishk Bagchi, Vishal Mishra, and Sachet–Parampara, has collectively garnered over 500 million streams. YRF Music has also announced an extended album release featuring two new tracks and sixteen original soundtrack instrumentals.

The cast includes Varun Badola, Rajesh Kumar, Shaad Randhawa, Sid Makkar, Neil Bhoopalam, and Geeta Agarwal, among others. The film’s success has not only launched the careers of its lead actors but also positioned Saiyaara as a modern classic in Indian cinema.

With its digital release, Saiyaara is expected to reach an even wider audience, continuing its legacy as a cultural phenomenon and redefining the landscape of contemporary Indian romance on screen.
