K.T. Sukhalu, advisor for Legal Metrology and Food & Civil Supply, emphasized the importance of the Tsüngkamnyo Festival as a celebration of cultural heritage and community. Sukhalu stressed the value of Naga unity while speaking as the main guest on the second day of the Tsüngkamnyo-cum-Mini Hornbill Festival at Yimkhiung Heritage, Pungro, Kiphire district. He emphasized the importance of maintaining the village ethos, which is deeply ingrained in Naga culture and emphasizes community, shared experiences, and generosity.
Sukhalu emphasized that in order to compete on a global scale, it is crucial to acquire technical skills in addition to degrees. He urged parents to instill integrity and discipline in their children by telling them to work hard, be disciplined, and be determined. S. Kiusumew, Advisor for Home Guard & Civil Defence, Fire & Emergency Services, organized the event, which included a number of events and speeches by notable people. CKS President N.Y. Choba Chang spoke as the tribal guest, while Laji Luyanba, general secretary of the Yimkhiung Tribal Council (YTC), gave the welcome speech.
Commencing on January 15 at Pungro Town’s local ground, the three-day Tsüngkamnyo-cum-Mini Hornbill Festival honors the Yimkhiung tribe’s rich customs and legacy. This year’s celebration will end on January 17. The GBs Union Pungro Sub-Division led a ceremonial log drum pulling to kick off the celebration, signifying power and solidarity. Pungrowong tribal children’s log drum performances, Penkim village’s folk song, M. Torila’s folk fusion, Khongsa village’s western musical performance, and Tsuyinla’s folk fusion were among the festival’s main highlights.
