Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), India’s largest IT services firm, announced the launch of an artificial intelligence (AI) experience zone and a design studio in London on October 10, 2025, as part of its strategic expansion in the United Kingdom. The initiative is expected to generate 5,000 new jobs across Britain over the next three years.
The new facilities represent a reimagined version of TCS’s flagship PacePort innovation hubs and are designed to foster client collaboration, digital transformation, and AI-led solutions. This marks the company’s second major design studio globally, following its New York facility.
The announcement comes amid a company-wide restructuring programme, under which TCS plans to lay off nearly 12,000 employees, accounting for approximately 2% of its global workforce. Despite the layoffs, the company reaffirmed its commitment to the UK market, highlighting its contribution of £3.3 billion to the British economy in FY2024 and its support for over 42,000 direct and indirect jobs in the region.
TCS stated that the investment aims to support talent development, drive innovation, and strengthen its long-standing partnership with the UK economy. The AI hub and design studio are expected to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of enterprise technology and digital services in the region.
