The Nagaland University Library is named after RSS founder Hedgewar

The International University in Dimapur, Nagaland, has named its new library after the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s founder, Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar. On Monday, Nagaland Governor La Ganesan inaugurated the Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar Central Library at International University, formerly Global Open University, in Nagaland. The library, which has 75,000 books, was inaugurated on the day of Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar’s 136th birthday, April 1, 1889, in Nagpur. During the event, the Governor emphasized the importance of libraries in encouraging intellectual curiosity and lifelong learning.

He described Dr. Hedgewar as a towering figure in India’s cultural and nationalist rebirth, and praised the Central Library for being a worthy homage to his legacy. The Governor of India, Swami Vivekananda, emphasized the importance of education as a manifestation of perfection within individuals and the integration of digital learning tools into the central library. He encouraged students to use the library for intellectual and personal growth, fostering a deeper understanding of values, nation-building, and innovation. The Governor congratulated International University, Dimapur, and commended faculty, students, and administration for their efforts.
