Parts of Kohima will have a power outage from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on October 31 and November 3, according to information from the electricity department. Executive engineer (E) Shiludi Longkumer of the electrical division Kohima stated in a press release that the shutdown was required to allow for the relocation of the 33 kV Kohima Ring Main Transmission Tower Line in order to construct the State Emergency Operation Center (SEOC) in the New Secretariat Complex area of Kohima.
The department announced that on October 31 and November 3, respectively, areas under the 11kV New Secretariat and 11kV Thizama would be impacted. Merima, Thizama, the New Secretariat complex, the New Assembly complex, and Phezoucha colony are among the locations. As a result, the agency has asked all customers in the impacted areas to make appropriate plans and take the required safety measures.
