The Ministry of Rural Development has authorized a number of noteworthy projects under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY-III) for the states of Manipur, Mizoram, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand in an attempt to improve rural infrastructure and foster economic development. At an estimated cost of Rs. 225.15 crore, the government of Manipur has authorized the construction of 41 highways totaling 280.97 kilometers. This follows the prior approval of 56 roads totaling 502.24 kilometers and the Rs. 404.72 crore investment made under the same project.
Seven 373.46-meter Long Span Bridges (LSBs) in Mizoram have been approved, requiring an expenditure of Rs. 67.69 crore. Additionally, 17 roads totaling 487.50 kilometers were already approved at a cost of Rs. 562.70 crore. At an investment of Rs. 140.90 crore, 21 LSBs totaling 970.772 meters in length will be built in Himachal Pradesh. Previously, 43 LSBs and 299 roads totaling Rs. 3,345.82 crore in investment were approved.
In addition to 212 highways totaling 2,287.95 kilometers and nine LSBs already approved for Rs. 1,865.34 crore, Uttarakhand has been approved money for nine LSBs of 246 meters, with an anticipated investment of Rs. 40.77 crore. These initiatives aim to boost local economies, improve connectivity, improve access to essential services, and support the government’s vision for a developed India.
